The one thing that is stored

It is local storage rather than a cookie, which means it is never sent to the server. It contains no identifier, nothing about you, and nothing that could be used to recognise you on another site.

Why the notice exists at all

Strictly, a site that stores nothing beyond what you have asked for does not need to ask permission. The notice is here so you are told plainly what is happening rather than having to take it on trust, and so the choice is yours either way. Declining changes nothing about how the site works, because there was nothing to switch off.

Removing it

Clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings removes the entry. The notice will then appear again on your next visit.

If that ever changes

If this site later adds something that genuinely needs cookies, such as an online calendar or visitor statistics, this page will be rewritten and the notice will ask properly before anything is set.
